Are we walking in love?

Many times we go through our through our everyday lives, not realizing that some people are in need of love, encouragement, motivation and friendship. We become so caught up in our everyday lives that we fail to realize that we are also our brother’s keeper. God has shown his unwavering love for us through his sacrificial act of allowing his son to be crucified to take away our sins. According to John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his own begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life.” We need to love each other as God loves us. We do not have to necessarily die for someone, but we can provide sacrificial love through listening, helping, encouraging and giving.

Sometimes we do not even recognize when we or others are struggling with the realities of life and/or depression. Some of the signs to look for are feelings of sadness, low self-esteem, lack of motivation, disruptions in your sleeping habits(insomnia), irritability, fatigue, frequent crying and/or digestive issues to name a few. Many times just talking to someone makes a difference and we need to be more sensitive to others around us, so that we are able to recognize signs of depression.

Usually when things are going well, we are happy and excited within ourselves and look forward to what lies ahead. However, when trials come, we sink into a deep depression, unable to cope with the dangerous lows that we have sunk into. These are the moments that we need to remember that as Christians, our joy comes from having a relationship with God, not in material things or people. God will help us to walk through adversity without sinking into total depression. He will also give us the ability to manage prosperity with humility and not make pride destroy our character(who we are). Having a relationship with Christ will help you to remain levelheaded no matter what your circumstances are.

I pray that this blog opens your eyes and you realize the importance of loving your neighbor. So the question to ask your self is “Are you walking in love?”
